Who says homebodies don't go out? We do.
Cebu has a lot to offer: places to dine in, hotels to stay in, and beaches to dive in. Just a few months ago, my husband and I went to the southern part of Cebu, Philippines. I've never really thought how beautiful the south part of the province is until I accidentally toured it.
The destination on that day was #MatutinaoBeach in #Badian. The place we were heading to is near the popular tourist spot, Kawasan Falls. Matutinao is located in the western part of Cebu. To reach Badian, you can ride a bus at the Cebu South Bus Terminal, hire a van, or drive and rely on Google Maps (make sure you know how to use it). Upon reaching Carcar City, you have to turn right to the road that will lead you to Barili, Dumanjug, Moalboal, and finally Badian. Unfortunately, we turned left. Worse, we realized it too late; we were already in Oslob, which is located in the eastern part of Cebu.
Well, things don't usually go as planned. We couldn't turn back because we were already far from Carcar City. Instead of feeling frustrated, we enjoyed the breathtaking view of the eastern side. It was a lovely day. The sun was up. The road was empty. The sky was bluer than ever. We left at 7 a.m., and we finally reached Badian at 12 noon. It was exhausting, of course. But reaching our destination was worthy.
I'm really looking forward to visit Matutinao soon. Traveling is not my thing, but when I do travel, I make sure I prepare myself for unexpected situations. For a homebody like me, getting out of the house is really refreshing.
Lessons:
- Check the map before you leave the house (if you're driving).
-Bring food and water. It's hard to stop in the middle of the road and look for a convenient store in the south.
- If you're traveling with kids, make sure you bring pillow, gadgets, or whatever that will divert their attention. We didn't bring any, so we talked. :)
