FYI: LA County, Jeff Bezos, and LeBron James

Updated: Aug 6, 2021

I woke up to some big news today. Los Angeles County is reimposing the wearing of masks indoors, Blue Origin CEO Jeff Bezos arrives in Texas in preparation for liftoff, and LeBron James is now king of the weekend box office.

People in Los Angeles Country are required to wear masks indoors this weekend regardless of their vaccination status.

The mandate aims to reverse the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in some parts of the United States.

According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, coronavirus cases went up in more than half of the country's states and territories.

We can remember that California just fully reopened its economy on June 15.

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Blue Origin and e-commerce giant Amazon, arrived in West Texas on Friday. Bezos will go to space on Tuesday, July 20, aboard his New Shepard rocket. He will go to space together with brother Mark Bezos, 18-year-old Oliver Daemen, and 82-year-old Wally Funk.

What is exciting about this one is that the launch is different from Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic space flight, which happened last week.

I am curious to see Bezos's trip because Blue Origin's rocket is a fully automated flight, according to experts.

In other news, LeBron James is now the king of the weekend box office after the movie "Space Jam" became a hit. It beat Marvel's "Black Widow."

I have not seen the movie, but I will watch it after this blog or later this week. I am excited about the new and familiar elements of this movie, which is a follow-up to the 1996’s movie "Space Jam" starring Michael Jordan.

I already watched "Black Widow," and I enjoyed the humour, drama, and action scenes in this movie. I am happy to see Florence Pugh alongside Scarlett Johansson.

I knew Pugh in the movie "Little Women," which also starred Emma Watson. Pugh in the "Little Women" was prim and proper, but she suddenly transformed into a superhero in "Black Widow."

I would love to do a movie review on "Black Widow" in this blog, but I will save that one for the coming days.

Talk to you soon.

P.S.
